Lang Son

Weather: The average temperature in Lang Son varies greatly. Considering humidity, temperatures feel hot for about half of year. You should visit Lang Son in the warmest time of year from early to middle of July with the average temperature of about 32oC.

Lang Son is a frontier mountainous province in the North – East of Vietnam. This province has potentiality of mineral, forestry, tourism and trading. This area is also proud of many culture and historical vestiges. They are Rampart of Mac Dynasty, Doan Citadel Vestige, Chi Lang Defile and Bac Le temple.

With an area of 830,521 ha, Lang Son is one of the most important commercial port in the North. Nowadays, it is an attractive tourist destination of the Northern with many interesting things from scenery, cuisine to local people.

About the tourist sites, Lang Son boasts some prominent places that you should not miss as below:

  1. Nhi Thanh cave, located in Lang Son city and near Tam Thanh Cave, it is a 500-meter-deep natural stone cave with colorful stalagmites.
  2. Chi Lang Complex: a 20-km-long structure is created from a narrow valley between two mountains. This place is associated with a great victory of Vietnam in the past and considered as the strongest citadel at the time.
  3. Mau Son mountain: 30 km from Lang Son city to the East, Mau Son mountain is a 1541-meter- high mountain with cold weather. It is surrounded by several smaller mountains. The specialty of this mountain is Mau Son peach with sweet and unforgettable flavor.
  4. Ky Lua market: the most interesting and busiest place in Lang Son where visitors can buy anything in one place including traditional attires, foods and souvenirs. Coming to this place, visitors can also have chance to meet and talk with local people.
