After breakfast, travel by coach to the ancient village of Duong Lam. Recognized as a national relic, it has a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back 400 years. On arrival, visit one of the oldest houses in the village, the home of the Huyen family, who have lived here for generations. Then choose to explore this quiet village and the tranquil countryside on foot or by bicycle. Visit the restored Phung Hung Temple and Mia Pagoda before enjoying lunch at the house of a local family. Back in Hanoi this evening, step aboard on the train for the overnight rail journey to Lao Cai.

On arrival in Lao Cai this morning, disembark your train and transfer to Sapa, a quiet and visually stunning mountain town located in north-western Vietnam. After settling in to your hotel, set off on a soft trekking tour to nearby Ta Phin, a small and picturesque village that’s home to the Kinh, Black Hmong and Red Dao people, who are known for their red headscarves and their handicraft skills. This expedition offers great insight into the daily life of these ethnic hill tribes. Afterwards, return to discover Sapa by night

This morning, take a guided walking tour of Sapa and its famous colourful markets. A magical combination of breathtaking landscapes, ethnic cultures and bracing mountain air, the alpine village of Sapa has been a gathering spot for hundreds of years. Here, local hill tribes buy and sell household products, animals, embroidery and handicrafts, as well as drinking corn wine with friends. After time at leisure, continue to visit the nearby village of Ta Van. Later, return to explore the city of Lao Cai before re-boarding the Train for your overnight journey back to Hanoi.

Right after disembark at the Gas station, take a rest and then go on a tour of Hanoi. Visit the most famous historical and cultural sites included Ho Chi Minh’s complex, Temple of Literature, and then take a cyclo tour around Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Afterwards, head to Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre and enjoy a traditional water puppet show.

Head to Hoi An’s colourful market to learn about local ingredients that you’ll use in the cooking lesson, then take a leisurely boat cruise along the Hoi An River to the school. Here, explore the herb garden before learning how to prepare authentic Vietnamese dishes. Afterwards, sample the results of your efforts at a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of Hoi An at your leisure to explore more of bustling Hoi An.

Travel past the towering natural wonder of the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills located south of Da Nang. Enjoy the beautiful Lang Co Beach then cross the Hai Van Pass, one of the country’s most scenic and beautiful hillside roads, on your way to Hue. Upon arrival, check in hotel and visit Hue’s Imperial Citadel and the tallest pagoda in Vietnam, the historic Thien Mu Pagoda. Following breakfast, this morning depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the war. Then get back to Ho Chi Minh city for walking tour in the afternoon and a cyclo ride of this fascinating city; visit an artist’s home to learn about traditional lacquer art; browse local treasures as you embark on an enthralling shopping tour or enjoy a motorbike tour.

Today, head to My Tho Port to embark on RV AmaDara or RV AmaLotus Cruise for your eight-day on spacious Mekong River cruise. After a short briefing is conducted before adjourning for lunch. After port clearance formalities, captain raises the anchor and cruises towards Cai Be for overnight.

This afternoon, you’ll explore the intriguing temple of Ta Prohm, famous for its intertwined trees.
